Funding

As a private, nonprofit organization, Family Connections relies on donations and grants from local agencies, businesses and individuals. With your support, whether financial or hands-on, together we can help more low income families give their children the best possible start towards academic and personal success.

Family Connections wouldn’t be successful without the tremendous support we receive from a number of service organizations in the Bay Area. Space at two of our sites is provided rent-free, thanks to partnerships with the Ravenswood City School District, and the Sequoia Union High School District. In addition, the Sequoia Adult School provides base salaries for our teachers.

Additionally, we are grateful to the following corporations, foundations, governments and community-based organizations that have helped Family Connections recently:

100 Women Foundation
Almanac Holiday Fund
Bring Me a Book Foundation
Children’s Health Council
David D. Bohannon Organization
Driscoll Foundation
Intero Foundation
Intuit Foundation
Franklin and Catherine Johnson Foundation
Hurlbut-Johnson Charitable Trust
Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health
Palo Alto Medical Foundation
Rathmann Family Foundation
Redwood City Rotary Club
Silicon Valley Community Foundation
Safeway Foundation
Sandisk Foundation

The Westly Foundation

To enhance our work in the classroom, we collaborate with a number of partners who provide services to our families as well as instruct parents in the classroom. Organizations such as Raising a Reader, Hand in Hand, and the Belle Haven Community School among many others continue to provide needed services to our families to enhance the classroom experience.

“After graduating from Family Connections when my son went to Kindergarten, I helped in the classroom as a teacher’s aid during the art program. I wanted to see his development in the classroom. He was happy to see his Mom there too!”

Margarita Herrera, Family Connections parent and mother of two children 8 and 2.5 years old
