Help Out in the Classroom

Parent education is a fundamental part of the daily schedule at Family Connections. We are looking for people to come play with our children so that more Family Connections parents are free to listen to the parent education topic, without the distraction of their children. Attend once or more regularly. We’re flexible and just happy to have your support.

Bring Your Musical Instrument to Class!

Our children and their parents enjoy visitors with special talents such as playing a musical instrument during class time. Our teachers like to incorporate music into their curriculum as much as possible. We are looking for volunteers with a talent that they can share with our class.

Plan a Special Party:

Do you have a favorite holiday? We still need help planning and hosting special parties for the classroom in 2009. Why not get a group together to plan a special party at one of our schools? We can assist you by recommending art projects, snacks, and goody-bag ideas.

Contact Debbie, our Community Liaison Coordinator.

Participate in our Fundraisers

Rotary Club Car Raffle: We are assembling the team to help with our 11th annual Car Raffle. Volunteers are needed in many roles from selling tickets at preschools to helping find special raffle incentive prizes to tracking ticket inventory. Contact Debbie, our Community Liaison Coordinator, to help out with this vital fundraiser.

An Evening with Children’s Authors: We are putting together the committee to organize our 11th annual event in 2009. Contact Renee, our Executive Director. She will get you in touch with the event’s chairperson.

Organize an Employee Event

Companies and organizations in the Bay Area enjoy working with Family Connections to organize a group event. This is a great way for organizations to create a team building exercise while giving back to the community. Previous projects included a spring spruce up day, helping at our graduation, sponsoring a holiday party, indoor painting and maintenance projects.

Contact Debbie, our Community Liaison Coordinator, to find out how your organization can organize a volunteer event with Family Connections.

“Every mother asks herself why children do not come with an instructional manual to know how to raise them. At Family Connections not only do they think about the well being and development of our children, but also in us - the adults. With the tools they offer us, we can develop our own instructional manual.”
